I have a 1x Santa Cruz Stigmata, and I would like to know if a X-Sync 42t chainring is actually the max ring or if I can go bigger (eg, 46t).
Isn’t there some sort of spacer I can add to create enough clearance for a larger ring (see pictures)?

look at the setup and support section, if you have a 2025 its listed as max 42 for single
Not if you don’t want to cross chain in the lowest gears.
[According to Santa Cruz](https://www.santacruzbicycles.com/en-au/pages/product-support/stigmata-4-my24) it’s designed for max 42T in 1x or 50T in 2x.
So obviously you could fit a spacer and run a 46T or 50T, but only if you accept significant cross-chaining in lower gears.
