I thought exactly the same thing when I saw his story lol, must be a new cockpit!
Is probably on the new aeroad as he is always riding the aeroad.
That’s a selle italia handlebar tape.
If he is riding prototype canyon why not with a canyon handlebar tape? Is that consistent with other pictures where we know for sure he rides aeroad/canyon? Maybe he is on a different bike? Also, they just recently released the new adjustable handlebar, would be strange to change it so fast isn’t it?
