Welcome back! Today the only way is ESSEX (sort of). Join me on this 4K walking tour of the beautiful town Leigh-On-Sea in the city of Southend. Located on the Thames Estuary just a 45 minute train ride from London, it’s a fantastic place to go in any season with a classic British seaside feel.
Starting out at the scenic nature reserve of Two Tree Island, I make my way past the marina, onto the cobbled streets of Old Leigh (famous for it’s seafood!), through to the sandy beach and finally up onto The Broadway with it’s artisan cafes and independent shops. Of course I’m joined by the wonderful pet accompaniment Mushu the dog! Leigh is full of historic pubs, restaurants and good coffee and is not somewhere to be missed! I even get a few glimpses of Southend pier.
So walk with me as I explore this idyllic coastal town and see why you should visit!

Hey Jack (I usually comment as John Cochrane). If I had known you were here I would have popped out and said hello. 🤪 The Ship Inn closed in 2017 and was going to be a 15 bedroom hotel but that plan has been rejected. You were looking out across at All Hallows on Sea the Isle of Grain is a bit further around the Kent coast. We have found some great bargains in the charity shops over the years. Great video btw.
Hi Jack I do love Leigh on Sea, your dog is so cute 👍😁 back in the 1990s we use to go to Leigjh on a Saturday and have a Fish Feast in Osbourne's. No one does Cockles like Leigh on Sea. Then we use to walk to Southemd and have Baileys Fish and Chips and Ice Cream at Rossi's at Westcliff. I remember being in the Peter Boat when 9/11 took place.Look forward to your next video 👍👍😁

Loved the bit about “sniffing bums!”…..that was the dog. Definitely somewhere l would go because I love jellied eels and you can only get them at areas like that. I really enjoyed this video. Thanks Jack xx

Leigh on Sea looks really nice. We went there on the way back from Burnham. It was pouring with rain so we didn't stop. Will definitely go back in better weather. Ever thought about doing a video of Maldon in Essex? We went there and it was lovely. Keep up the great vids.

I'm from Leigh! So nice to see this ❤ I used to live on a boat at Leigh Marina, andI worked in The Smack! Be careful of your dog because car drivers are a menace down there. It's lovely on a hot day with the tide in.
The pubs in old leigh are rammed solid during summer but its near 15 quid for fish and chips and beers are near 5 quid a pint! You should never park down the road into old leigh its always rammed because they want to drive the chelsea tractor suvs down there rather than do what you did and walk around!
