Quick rundown of roughly miles 26-40 ish (about the 15 miles outside the Mulhall aid station). It is bone dry, the majority of it is hardpack and running pretty fast. However, it is deceptively hilly in some parts: there’s nothing loose on the climb that will make you slip out your rear wheel, just pick your line on the downhill leading in and be prepared to go into the red on the crests.

There is only one portion with significant rutting or potholing from Tuesday’s rain. I don’t have a mile number, maybe like 33 or 34, but there is a large pothole on the left that’s not rollable, immediately one to the right just after, and then a series of three smaller potholes. It’s safest to just take the middle on this portion.

One last note on the way INTO Mulhall, the right turn onto Midwest is freshly graded/resurfaced with what looks like big limestone chunks. It is loose, it is chunky, it is sharp. There are quite luckily two vehicle tracks that make a good line to follow, but the normal outside-inside-outside cornering advice in this corner will end you up either flatted, crashed, or both.

Be safe everyone, enjoy. The vibes are immaculate out here!
