I bought this bike used, but when I was cleaning it, I noticed this: I checked and the cassette is stuck to the frame; the chain ended up wearing it down.
Now I'm wondering if it's safe to use or if I'm just overreacting.
Imo its okay, as long as it is not carbon fiber.. in this case you have an aluminum frame which is.. okay (again, in my humble opinion)

I’d run it!
Edit: i also play bike polo and shit like this is trivial to me.
No cracks no fear

It’s on the dropout well clear of the chainstay weld. I am having a hard time thinking of a scenario where that would shear. It’s not going to split apart. If it did fail, my guess is it would be from some kind of abnormal impact, like a break rather than a deformation. I’d ride it.

Depending on frame material you could weld a tube in place from seat stay to chain stay. That would strengthen this area of the frame. But it doesn’t look that bad.
