Saw what looks like a great deal on a Trek ALR-4, only issue with the bike is this dent in the cross frame from being dropped in storage. Fairly new to gravel bikes, is this a deal breaker or something that likely won’t cause issues going forward?

Are sure this isn’t intentional? „The cross frame“ is not really something we call certain parts of a frame. If this was on a chain stay this could be intentional. If this was on a down tube, I’d avoid it.
Avoid.
This is a dent and not intentional. There is a paint chip and crack, and the dent isn’t parallel with the frame. Definitely a dent. This also looks like aluminium which means that part is compromised. I would avoid entirely
That doesn’t happen when it’s “dropped in storage” (who drops their bikes in storage anyway). That happens when you try to break a U-lock with leverage. This + the “great deal” are strong indicators of a stolen bicycle, I’d steer clear (or proceed with caution and check the serial number). Imo no deal is that great when a main tube is compromised
the top tube is sometimes called the cross bar. maybe that is what they are referring to?
my bike has a dent there similar to this. i still ride it, but am looking for a new frame and wouldn’t buy the frame i have if it was offered to me.
Stolen
About as clear cut evidence of stolen as one can get, damaged in the theft
I’d ride it still if it was mine. I wouldn’t buy one pre dented. Unless it was 95% off
