  1. You put some furniture over it and hide it when you are selling the house

Sorry to whoever got the brake fluid stained carpet from my last house

  2. you need a solvent of some sort… lighter fluid may work… alcohol may work… simple green/orange may work (but may discolor your carpet)

    – Soak some kitchen tissue in degreaser and it on. You don’t want the grease to break down and bleed around, likely to make a bigger stain.

    – Pluck the stained carpet hairs, glue new ones from an edge if it a bald spot is noticeable.

Degreaser, small brush, blot, dish soap/baking soda mix, small brush, blot. Repeat until you have fooled yourself into thinking it has improved.

  8. Could try isopropyl or brake cleaner. Not sure if there’s any harm to carpet if you do it that way. Should ventilate the room if using brake cleaner

  9. For greasy stains like this, I mix some dish soap or laundry soap and water in a spray bottle, spray it on the spot, and then suck the liquid away with a wet vacuum cleaner (i.e., ‘Shop-Vac’). I repeat this a few times to get most of the grease out, and then I add an additional step: I rub the stained area (with a brush, my finger, or the nozzle of the spray bottle) to release the remaining grease.
