It’s important that bicycle riders choose the right handlebars for their bike to maximize their riding experience. In today’s video, Jackson breaks down a few different fixed gear handlebar types and rates them according to different criteria: comfort, control, tricks, speed, and aesthetics. From bullhorns, drop handlebars, and riser handlebars to BMX-style bars, each handlebar has pros and cons that suit different rider needs. Jackson brings a unique experience with freestyle trick riding that will help riders choose the best bars to suit their needs.

  1. One question because i found FG very uncomfy. Now i See your Seat Position compared to your Bar Position and i Wonder if you Hang in a very Steep angle (triangle?) which seems pretty uncomfy as well…or do you Ride a bike which is on The smaller side at your personal height what give you Space?
I think i maybe Choosed a too big Frame Size because i had my Head Always is the kneck and my back flat over the Frame 🤷🙄

  2. alot of messengers in toronto used to just remove the brake levers from a set to have hoods on drops on a brakeless track. your idea is still smart, you just gotta make it better.

  3. I remember as a kid riding bmx bikes around town and seeing who could do the craziest thing, the cool thing was to ride without brakes using your foot jammed into the back tire to break and to angle your handlebars really far forward.

  4. Bull horns are, I think, the most utilitarian of all for a fixed gear. Theres a reason they were so popular and the only reason they started getting made fun of is because that movie. No reason to trash a good thing even if people get fickle about it.

  5. I have been searching for that little piece of history. A child’s bike with a banana seat and ape bars.
I need a couple of seconds of footage for a no budget film festival walk down memory lane. Or even just a photo.

  6. Хоть у кого-то рождаются оригинальные идеи имеющие под собой практический смысл.
Молодец парень, у тебя есть собственное мнение.

  7. The lane splitters with the pink grips. I was a bike messenger in the 90's i wouldn't have grips on them though because i didn't want them slipping off just straight aluminum sawed off little bars. They took me 60+ miles a day through traffic on my KHS aerotrack. It took a while to get to that point though. when your riding that hard that much the less the better.

  8. yo i love the idea of dummy levers for your drop bars, you should design them to be left and right blinkers too, so night riding, you got blinkers turn left or right. just sayin

  9. My guy I’ve been riding fixed gear for years and nobody I know ride carbon anything frames, bars, wheels. Nobody I know rides tubeless wheels on fixed gear either, that’s silly. most people I know that ride fixed, their frames are steel, some use aluminum but that’s silly and theres no such thing as fixed weight weenies. And what is with talking about fixed and all you’re doing is tuning up your road bikes? You are on some poser ass stuff, bro.

  10. 13:35 I used to use a kind of a mustard bar but placed in the opposite side with the bar ends pointing to the front it results in kind of a bullhorn or pursuit bars, but honestly it's one of the most comfortable sets in terms of handlebars I've ever used and the look, makes the bike look more aggressive, aerodynamic and looks fast even if is just parker there 😎👌

  11. 15:05 i don't like tose long riser handle bars, I don't like the look, the feeling, the unpractical they are through traffic 🤢🤢🤢🤮

I have like 20 handle bars, but I don't have any of those 🤮

  12. Mustache bars. I have been running them on my first Fixie for like ever, and I love them. I run brakes and road levers add an extremely comfortable hand position for all day riding. Give em a try!

  13. We used to rock the short flat handlebars for bike polo. Worked out alright. Didn't get tangled up with other players as much. cheers mate nice video!
