The Adams Road section of the Comberton Greenway runs from Grange Road to Wilberforce Road junction. Already used by up to 3,000 cyclists daily, Adams Road will become England’s first Cycle Street.
The works involve changing the existing road layout by widening both sides of the footways and reducing the width of the road giving priority to cyclists. A limited number of parking bays will be created, with all other on street parking being removed. This will improve safety for everyone and create user-friendly conditions for pedestrians and cyclists.
Both the footways and the road will be resurfaced as part of the project. Planting areas and associated drainage improvement works will also be added to ensure water safely drains away from the road.
