  1. They are adjustment screws not ‘hold things together’ screws so no need to tighten if everything is working smoothly.

    The one on the caliper itself is to adjust the spring tension so that the brake centres itself properly when you release the lever.

    And the one on the lever is for reach. It’ll nudge the lever in closer to the handlebar in case you have smaller fingers or you are a panda.

  2. They adjust how strong the spring is that pulls the brake back. If your brakes are working don’t touch because adjusting one side will mean you have to adjust the other
