Ha you actually slept in the exact same hotel in Gjirokastër as we did a few years ago. 😄
We did part of Albania in 2018 but will be back in the area in the spring of 2027. It's a great area to ride and the people are welcoming. I wasn't too impressed with Tirana (crazy traffic!) the capital but then I don't like cities in general! If you like the stone houses here just wait till you get down the Mani Pennisnula!
There's a room that you can view that has the skeletal remains of the old monks that used live there. I've been to those Meteora many times while growing up in Greece. I hope your tour takes you through Volos, that's where my mom grew up.
