I love both climbing and sending it downhill, been looking for a bike for a while and I don’t know, doesn’t the geometry look a little too like a normal bike? I like the geometry of full enduro bikes 200mm travel kinda look but I don’t know. Here’s a pic of the bike https://img.sanishtech.com/u/614f9b1212d13661c52db061be1a0b3f.png

  1. That’s a very capable all-around bike. It also has great components. I think you’d be happy with it

    That‘s my bike!
Love it, feels perfect for me. The most limiting factor is its rider…..own it for two years now and made some changes over time:
The wheelset is quite heavy. If you want your ride to be more nimble, go for some lighter wheels. The Giant AM wheigh about 2.3kg.
Second part i changed were the brakes. The levers from the Tektro Orion felt too long for my hands, so i switched to the XT 4pistons.
Next came the tires. Maxxis DHF and Dissector is a nice combo, climbs really well. But the Dissector lacked braking power – and grip on rocky trails. I got a set of Conti Kryptotals FR and R.
My last change had been the rear shock. My Fox DPS lost air and it felt too soft for me. Now i have a RS Super Deluxe Ultimate and very happy with it.

Overall my TranceX is now more like a wannabe enduro bike than the trail bike it used to be. Still climbs good, but as i have softer rubber with enduro casings my ascends are a tad slower.
