I'm looking for a new XC MTB for trails in SE Michigan. My old XC bike is a Diamondback Axis from 2016 and I'm looking for an upgrade. Specifically for riding Iceman in November.

I found this 2016 Specialized Carve that's had every component upgraded. He's asking $850 for it (he has lowered the price twice since I found the listing).
I'm wondering if this is too old of a frame or if it will be fine and if the bike is worth that much.
It's won't be my only MTB, I also have a YT Capra for trail and DH.

Here's the listing:

Selling a custom, lightweight Specialized Carve hardtail with lots of upgrades.

Size Large / 19

Some items:
Sram X01 Drivetrain (12 speed Eagle)
Fox Factory 32 Fork (Kashima)
KS Dropper post
Wolftooth Lever
Vitoria Mazza Tires (29×2.4)
Hydraulic Shimano Brakes
PNW

Bike is light and ready to rip any of the local XC races! Come check it out and let me know if you have any questions!

In person, cash transactions at a public location only please.

Just curious what’s making you think that getting a whole new setup for XC the same age as your current setup will benefit you? Versus upgrading just a couple of components.
