  1. I’ve got this Bontrager Verse Elite saddle that got damaged in a fall ([more pics](https://imgur.com/a/drWlm0m)).

    Any ideas on what I should do with it?

    Some ideas from googling it:

    * Do nothing
    * Gorilla tape or equivalent
    * Sugru/Formerol silicone
    * E6000 glue
    * Liquid electrical tape

  2. Epoxy puddy, then sand it down. Also paint marker if you’re lazy and want a cosmetic coverup.

    I repaired a newer expensive saddle that some lovely person slashed with knife with tenacious tape that you use on clothing/tents etc. but that was a straight cut whereas that’s brutal. If water gets in it will be ruined also.

    Wouldn’t it be great if there was a service that would stitch kevlar sides on?

    OP, there are some videos on YouTube showing how to replace the cover if you want to give it a try. Don’t risk your shorts and abrasion with a repair that might increase the potential damage.

  5. Remove the leather trying to leave the shape intact, buy a sheet of leather of the same color/thickness (you can also find it perforated), place the old on top of the new on a flat surface and trace the profile leaving 1 cm of border around it, get some glue for shoes and spread it on the leather sheet back, apply to the saddle, make it sure there is some pressure and let it cure. I ddi that to an old saddle and the result was not perfect but better than what I started with.
