If anyone is missing a Santa cruz chameleon, it's being sold in the bay area. Craigslist account was under Michelle Romero but the person I corresponded with went by Alfred. The listing is for SF but the person requested pickup in San Jose. They didn't have receipts for any part of the obviously heavily customized bike. They didn't even know what a fork on a bike is. Hope everyone keeps their bikes safe.

  1. Damn from the description it sounds like the thief is probably a cyclist from how they were able to describe the specific parts. What scum

Nice work caped crusader! You have zero proof that it’s stolen and I’m not seeing anything convincing here. Not having receipts isn’t unheard of and not wanting to sell it to you is their choice to make.

Why is anyone thinking this bike was stolen? Isn’t it just an ad for an old bike?

Unfortunately this happens all the time. Not worth worrying about. I’ve had a bike stolen and while it sucks it’s best to just move on. It’s part of the sport.
