Hello

This is the new Toploader style bike bag from Decathlon/Rockrider

Volume: 10L + 2x 1.5L on the side + expandable

Cost: 80€

I disscused with a few people, got some questions, got some feedback

I deceided that I need hand on knowlege

1: Volume

I would say in the main compartment has space for about 15L, im sure I could fit at least my 2 person tent + a sleeping bag or mat

With my UL tent i could probably fit all of the 3

The topflap compartment goes till the bottom Pic 8

The straps to secure the topflap are long enough but hard non round shapes would probably not fit well under full load

2: Framing + Build

There is a framing made from a slightly rugged plastic that can be bent, pic 4 shows me squeezing the bottom together and it stayed in the shape but was able to easly be bent bake into shape without any damage

This lining surrounds the whole front and back

It surly isnt waterproof so a liner of some sort would be needed, i would say a UL drybag or trash bag should do the trick

3: Attachment

Im not all that confident into the stability of the bag since the splint in the back and the attachment system in general seems quite floppy

With a small front rack (jack the rack or smth) it would probably give the needed stability and would increase the amount that can be fit into the bag

4: Extras

Drayn holes in the bottom

I woudnt use it as a basket bag since there is no good bottom attachment

Non stretch side pockets that would fit a waterbottle when not loaded up but could be a problem to add smth after being loaded, probbably better for spare tire, soft bottle, snacks, trash, repair equipment

I HAVENT BOUGHT IT YET THIS IS JUST A OBSERVATION OF THE BAG

Conclussion:

Side pockets are not that usefull I think, but i could be wrong since i didnt load it

Volume seems very nice and nicly packable compared to drybags

Not waterproof

Needs front rack for stability and big loads

Price is ok for how rugged it seems

I will buy it for my upcoming 1 week trip to test it out, i checks all the boxes i wanted since i have a front rack anyway and hate rolls in the front

Conpared to a Swift Zeitgeist its half the price in switzerland (80vs230)

Other toploader bags around here have similar volume but no sidepockets and not many reviews online or at that bad reviews

Have a nice and safe next ride 😉

I don’t understand the point of non-waterproof bikepacking bags. What do people do when it rains, Cafe stop? Guess you could put everything in dry bags, but front bags should be easily accessible.

Also no quick release and 80€ (70 in DE). Seems like a pretty bad deal to me.
