Welcome to the club! That’s a great bike to start with.
One recommendation: if you find yourself starting to ride more technical trails – singletrack with rocks, roots, and trees that come close to the edge of the trail – consider having your bike shop remove the kickstand. It can get caught on things and bend the frame at best, spin you off the bike at worst. Just remember to always lay it down chain side up.

I love the color schemes in the new Trek Marlins. Good choice!

This is how it all starts… in five years people will be asking why you have a $500 car and a $10k bike.

A lot of people don’t know this but modern mtb handlers ship intentionally wide so users can cut them to preference. The ones you have look SUPER wide I doubt they are comfortable for you like that. Maybe try trimming them to 740-780mm depending on height and build? Im 6’3” and love mine at 760. Should cost $20-30 at a shop. Otherwise every bike is a sick bike. Enjoy!
