Hi Everyone,
My Trek Emonda ALR has a "cracking" noise that feels like it’s coming from the BB (SRAM DUB T47).
The wierd things are the following:
- Under Power: Silent at ~100W; starts cracking loudly when pushing >200W.
- Intermittent: Sometimes skips a few strokes, then returns.
Previously my LBS unmounted, greased, and reinstalled the BB. The noise vanished but returned after only 300km.
Since the grease fix was so temporary, I'm wondering if it's the T47 interface, the SRAM DUB spindle, or something else (chainring bolts? pedals?).
Hope someone has an idea.
Thanks!

We usually use PTFE paste to coat the bottom bracket before install. Acts as a lubricant to install, but then hardens kind like chewing gum and keeps water out. Been doing that for years and seems to work great. Other things to look at: Check chainring bolts, make sure rear thru axle is tight. Tighten fastening bolt to rear derailleur, and most importantly, remove the cascette and lubricate the splines on the cascette hub body with a hard grease, then re install the cascette.
