In my latest film I discover the joys and challenges of winter bikepacking. I throw all my gear, experience and resolve at enjoying a sub-zero, 680-km tour of Southern Norway in January on the Tern Orox S12 from Eidsvoll to Gjøvik, Lillehammer, Ringebu, Dovre, Folldal, Alvdal, Budor and back to Eidsvoll in Southern Norway.

What a great trip!
Beautiful!
Like you say . Magical . Thank you for sharing .
Wow Markus – that was one helluva Winter expedition – makes our usual ODP rides look a wee bit tame! I know what you mean about Winter being the magic riding season. And I also know what you mean about Folldal – cold enough skiing there at Easter – never mind cycling there in the depths of January 🥶🥶🥶
I’m preparing to ride every stage of the Giro d’Italia, Tour de France, and Vuelta a España — alone, over months, with no support
Awesome trip , love the cargo bike. So questions are how did the battery perform in cold weather and did you take an extra battery or is charging along the way okay 🤔
❄️🌨️ what a freezing adventure! There are this moments of pure nature out there – so magic!
Thanks for Sharing.
Enjoyed your video thanks for posting 👍
Beutiful pictures
Mich interessiert deine Ausrüstung. Gibt es extra Videos/Tipps zu
Reifen?
Kleidung?
Akku Schutz? ….
Folldal is really a cold place!
Dont you find that the short days (light wise) are a problem when cycling for fun? I dont mean it is not possible, but some of the fun of cycling long distances is to see the landscape.
And btw, great filming, beautiful photos!
Great effort weather too unpredictable for an organised route
That was a beautiful video. The cinematography was really top notch, gorgeous imagery
The chances of getting a puncture on those roads in extremely low but if you had any mechanical issues in those temperatures, you could have been in serious difficulties ! Great video
Thanks Markus – I love the mix of bonkers adventure and careful thought about risks and solutions. Your photography is amazing
