bike: gt grade comp (aluminum frame)
rack: logo tubus evo
so, as you can see by the photos, I bought a rack that doesn’t fit my bike (oops!) there isn’t any mounting points on my seat tube where the arms of the rack naturally want to go. and the mounting points on the seat stays are down too far for the arms to reach, and also face vertically, which would be a no go for this rack.
so my question is, what are my options?
drilling holes seems wrong to me, but maybe it’s safe to do? if there’s some kind of workaround anyone can think of, it would be much appreciated. I’m not opposed to a hillbilly solution. Yeah, I could after all just buy a new rack that fits my bike and sell this one, but I’d rather try to make this one work. Thanks

A seatclamp with rack mount will work (buy the right diameter for your frame)

Get a seatpost clamp with rack mounts on it
Definitely don’t drill holes, you can’t screw a bolt without threads in the hole, and that requires special tools you most probably do not own. The seatpost clamp solution seems like the best idea, otherwise I have seen it done with some C rubber clamps.
The mounting points you do have are not rack mounts they are mudguard mounts for GT bike specific mudguards so they are unlikely to be strong enough if you try and carry any weight on the rack.
There are racks on the market that allow you to mount using the axle and a seatpost clamp but all the ones I know are standalone units not adaptors to allow you to use other racks
They make seatpost clamps with rack mounts on them 👍
