Riding the Alps – Grossglockner to Mount Ventoux MC Tour 2019
In the summer of 2019, three riders set out on a serious motorcycle adventure: from Norway to Spain, with one goal – to cross the Alps on two wheels.
This series documents the Alpine leg of that journey, starting at Grossglockner in Austria and continuing through Europe’s most legendary mountain passes. Over the course of one intense week, we ride Passo Giau, Passo Falzarego, Passo Gardena, Stelvio Pass, Passo Bernina, Splügen Pass, Col du petit Bernand, Col de l’Iseran, Col du Télégraphe, Col du Galibier, Col de la Bonette and finish at Mount Ventoux in southern France. In addition to these summits we ride in Vercors amazing national park region.
While the families flew to Malaga, we took the hard way – riding over 2,000 kilometers of mountain roads, hairpin bends, and remote landscapes. This is raw motorcycle touring. No trailers. No shortcuts. Just the road, the ride, and the kind of freedom only found on two wheels.
If you’re planning a motorcycle trip through the Alps or just want to see real riding in some of the best scenery Europe has to offer, you’re in the right place.

Motorcycle Ride – Amazing Vercors Loop to Pont-en-Royans (Alps Tour Leg 15)
Leg 15 takes us on a spectacular detour through the Vercors Regional Natural Park, one of the most underrated motorcycle regions in France. This area offers a completely different landscape – towering limestone cliffs, narrow balcony roads, and hidden gorges that feel like a world apart from the high Alps.
The route begins by leaving the main alpine valleys and entering the labyrinth of the Vercors Massif, where roads such as the Combe Laval, Gorges de la Bourne, and Col de Rousset carve their way through vertical rock walls. Every corner reveals a new panorama or a sheer drop that makes this region legendary among riders.
Unlike the crowded Alpine passes, Vercors feels quiet and timeless – a place where you can ride for hours without seeing much traffic. It’s technical in places, flowing in others, and always unforgettable.
The day ends in Pont-en-Royans, famous for its colorful medieval houses suspended over the river. After a long day carving through canyons and gorges, this village is the perfect stop to rest, refuel, and soak in the atmosphere.
If you crave variety and raw natural beauty, this leg is an absolute highlight of any motorcycle tour in France.
