This was my Mom's. She died ten years ago and she had this for at least as long as I remember which is 40+ years.
I'm going to sandblast it and get it repainted in black sparkle while re-doing as much of the original white paint designs as I can.
Thanks in advance for your help!

It says “Bendix 76” near the rear wheel hub.. is that when manufactured or just that part?
Probably late 70s.
Hard to say, classic design spanning many years.
But looks a lot like the 82′ I used to deliver papers with as a kid/teen. The only bike i found at the time that could handle me and 60+ papers, and did ok in the snow.
That said, that 82 looked pretty much the same for a number of years before that. Though not long after that, production moved to Japan (or Taiwan not 100% sure) and they lost the USA and Chicago mentions on their stickers and badges.
Added: you can probably get water transfers or well made stickers to replace the trim paint, there’s enough Schwinn enthusiasts that someone probably makes them. The head badge will difficult to re-install with rivets, but strong two sided carpet tape can be used instead with great results, just make sure to place it right the first time, it’s not easy to remove. I recommend taping the head badge first, then cutting around the edges with an Xacto knife, then attaching it to the frame.
Personally I’d powder coat rather than paint. It’s a much more durable product and the cost difference is negligible for a quality professional job.
