I Tried Cycling Iceland’s Most Remote Cycle Route: 800km on The Westfjords Way

In August, I attempted Iceland’s Westfjords Way, a cycle route at the very edge of the Arctic Circle. It combines hot springs, fjords and mountains into one epic route that’s about as remote as you can go in Europe on a bike.

Starting from Isafjordur, it traverse fjords, mountains and the punishingly beautiful Svalvogar sea road before finishing back in Isafjordur. Half on tarmac, half on gravel, the Westfjords Way is full of punchy climbs, endless waterfalls and hardly a car to be seen.

This documentary follows our journey around the Westfjords Way in August 2025.
