Hi community!

So, while I am still struggling with picking a destination for my next several-months bikepacking trip starting around mid June, I realised how much I'd love to go back to South America (after bikepacking Patagonia over a year ago).

I have drafted a route basically using the files available on bikepacking.com for Camino del Puma and Lagunas y salaries, adding Sucre and Potosí on the way, and then further south into Chile to Atacama. If I'm good on energy and still have money why not keep cycling South through Chile/Argentina afterwards.

I just wonder if going at the coldest time of the year, with the combination of the altitude that I might struggle getting used to, plus going solo (female) might be a bit ambitious or not. On most part of the route it would obviously get pretty cold at night. I know it will be the dry season though so great cycling conditions during the day. I'm also a bit worried for in case I get bitten or attacked by a dog out there alone (from my bikepacking experience, I think dogs are possibly my biggest fear 😅). I am close to fluent in Spanish.

So before I make a final decision on my destination (considering Canada as well) I'd love to hear any feedback from people who did a similar route at a similar time or just if anyone has any advice. For example, would it be best to follow the north part of the Camino del Puma route to get to the bolivian border or the south part.

Thank you!!
