    Torque screw preload adjustment screw


    I’m going to change my stem, but I see Orbea is advising a 5Nm for the preload adjustment screw. Isn’t that way too much for this? Or is this normal?

      I never go by torque spec on the preload adjustment. I’d ignore those 5Nm and just take out the play.

      Yes, that’s way too much. Good catch. A friend of mine broke 2 top caps going by spec on her new Orbea Terra Race. Not sure what’s the reasoning behind those high specs …
