great video! thanks for the all the hard work
This was great! If I move to Portugal, I’d need to increase my physical activity to balance all the Portuguese wine I plan to discover. I’m a pretty lazy person, but getting older shows me, that needs to stop. 😁
Great vid; I think your friend would have even more success if there was an electric bike option…I've ridden an electric mountain bike for the past few years and a recent visit to their new expanded warehouse shows how popular it's become. You don't have to use the battery if you don't want to, but for hills it's nice to have an assist once in a while; I think that would attract a lot of older riders to their business….I hope they have great success with their busines as things stsrt to normalize.
Any decent CrossFit Box’s/gyms in the Algarve?

Obrigado for the great information. I am coming to live in the Cascais area in June. Looking foreard to learning more of biking in that area and making new friends in the cycling community.😎👍🚴🏼♂️
Loving the variety of videos, thanks Nick.
Thanks SO much for this Nick, it was a pleasure to come along and help make this video with you! If anyone wants any friendly advice or help about anything related to cycling in portugal, just get in touch with me on the website – echappee-portugal.com or via Instagram or Facebook.
Awesome video Nick thanks
Another great video Nick. I’ve been using the last few months of Covid lockdown to put in some miles on the bike. I bought it (Trek Hybrid)in Bikeland off Tico and am enjoying all the cool routes around central Algarve. I live near Tunes so I’ll go do Alte, Silves,Albufeira,Vilamoura etc all great routes and a nice way to spend a couple of hours 😎
Nick, another cool video, just what I asked for in prior posts. I will really enjoy this series of videos of “What to do when you get to the Algarve”. I have gained the knowledge around the D7 visa and the NHR. So, I kind of know how to get there, how to rent or buy a home. Now that I am there, what is there to do to fill my days in active retirement. I am currently an active Mtn biker(XC, downhill), dirt bike rider and SUP a little. Cannot wait to see your next activity. Keep up the great work and videos.
Another good vid, Nick. I have a feeling the Algarve will be filling up with much-needed tourists in the coming weeks. Stay safe.
Hi Nick. How is the road cycling in the Algarve. We ride about 3-4 times a week and we were wondering how good the cycling roads are. Also are they any swimming pool for lap swimming like Olympic pools. Thanks 🙏🏽
Hi Nick,
Really enjoy your vids.im interested in motorcycling in the Algarve, and hoping to move in the next couple of months.any chance of doing a vid on that.cheers Neil
I’m crazy for aquatic aerobics, especially AquaZumba…does anybody offer those classes in the Algarve? Beach Zumba?
Another great video. So inspiring I need to get back on my bike. BTW—are there flat walking paths you can point out? I assume they exist mostly along the coast but may be some inland walking paths exist too? Cheers. 🚶🏼♂️🥾🧦
Great informative post … we look forward to joining in with some cycling when we arrive 🚲
Great video!
I am newer to biking going on my 3rd year. I bought a gravel bike because I didn't know what type I would enjoy. I ride mostly smooth roads and paths with occasional trail to explore. The mountain bikes look like they beat you up. I'd need a massage instead of a beer after that day.
I love to ride alone. I also enjoy tours in unfamiliar places.
Great job Nick! Fiona may be my favorite of all your guest. Her love and passion of cycling shows. I am going to have to get my fat ass in shape to take one of her tours when I visit. Along with meet up when I retire and move there.
I bike, run, hike so that I can drink 🍻 and 🍷.
yeah! 💪
Hi, Nick (allow me to call you this way, please). I found most of your videos very interesting and valuable (most – because I haven;t seen them all as yet). This one – in particular (Y) Thanks for doing great job and hope to meet you some day.
Can't wait to move there finally. Got out of road bike riding here in the states because it got so dangerous. Would love to get back into it there. Did a running program on my treadmill where the guy takes you through a lot of the dirt road near the cliffs in the Algarve and that hooked me.
Well, I was a bit slow on the uptake – a cycling vlog. I prefer setting my own pace but I enjoy meeting up with people. These tips are invaluable. Many thanks..
Thanks Nick , I met up with Fiona for a guided day ride , she really is a brilliant organiser with a super infectious personality, if any one is planing a trip or just a cycle be rest assured your in great hands , thank for the info 🤘
Hi Nick. My husband and son are CMAS tech divers. We hope to relocate to the Algarve in a few years.
We hope to come on a proper Recce late this year or early 2022.
Any scuba and spearfishing information please !
Fiona’s boyfriend would have been awesome to interview…. ;(
Huge MTB'er here. Please do another of these, I was thinking perhaps even give the gopro to one of the guides in the area for a firsthand look at the gnarliest trails at full speed! The major app/site we use in The States (Trailforks) doesn't show many of the trails in Portugal. I was actually concerned about moving to The Algarve because it initially appeared there were almost NO TRAILS to be found nearby, save for making a several-hours drive. I've recently learned there ARE in fact trails there, but would love to see more details! I know you are aware of a few guides there who do MTB trips, and I'd love to see the intermediate/advanced trails the area has to offer! – To be clear, the trails I'm talking about would be very rocky, difficult, downhill or similar terrain. 🙂
I was wondering if anyone has experience / knowledge with what's an acceptable bicycle rack for a car. I've got a trailer hitch bicycle rack on my car at home, and I just discovered that it may not meet Portuguese regulations. What style of racks do people mostly use in Portugal? The roof-top style definitely won't work for us.
