Looking to buy my first gravel bike. Im coming from the MTB world so the gravel styles available are new to me.
Im stuck between the Lauf Seigla or BMC URS 01. They are both about same price so that is not a factor. They seem to be marketed differently but hace some overlap.
My intended use is long and multi day rides across a variety of surfaces.
I like the BMC because its marketed as a touring style gravel and has all the mounts but concerned because its limited to 47mm tires.
Seigla is marketed as a race bike but has similar geo to the Canyon Grizl and I have seen people use it as a touring bike with seemingly no issues.
What do you all think?

Easy. Lauf… Massive tire clearance
Never have raced my Seigla nor do I plan on it, but I do long rides on it no problem. I love this bike so much, granted it’s my first carbon gravel bike but it’s so playful and fun. The fork and SRAM transmission are what sold me on it, I really like the range on the cassette and the fork not needing service is just icing on the cake.
The fork mounts will be clutch for hauling gear on multi day rides. 47mm is hefty enough for nearly everything except maybe intense single track at high speed, which you won’t be doing with all that gear attached.
2k miles on my Lauf last year. 10/10 would recommend
If you are truly planning multi day rides the fork mounts will be a major plus for the BMC.
Seigla is no brainer here. Tire clearance, famous amortization fork.
Also the thing no one is mentioning but it is super important. The headset.
On this Seigla I see semi-internal routing, which should be the golden standard, not this fully internal nonsense.
With BMC ICS You will be stuck within their proprietary parts. And costs of maintenance will be significantly higher.
Actually, with semi-internal routing You will be able to change parts at home, but with fully internal routing it will be dramatically more complicated.
Lauf. That bike is nice, versatile, and great value for the money.
You could also look at the Giant Revolt which has fork mounts and 53mm tire clearance.

Lauf
Lauf for the fork, tire clearance, and something that’s not always considered: really solid customer service.
URS is heinous looking so the Lauf wins. Also, the BMC headset situation is gross.
All my buddies are buying Seiglas, they’re very happy. Great geo, kinda racy. Great tire clearance. Great value. The fork is the clincher.
If you want to bikepack or do multi day rides and need mounts for racks, I would implore you to seriously consider the Ari Shafer 3.0. I believe its a way better deal than the URS AND its more similar to the Lauf which is the better bike (imo) compared to the URS.
I just bought a Lauf yesterday, cant wait for it to get here, but I was primarily between a Lauf Seigla and Ari Shafer 3.0. Ultimately I did the Lauf because they had a great outlet deal on a size and build I wanted, but also I didnt need the mounts since I dont bikepack.
Please please please look at the Ari Shafer, great looking bike, great deal, and far more versatile compared to the URS. I hear you also get tons of customization options with the shafer for personalized fit.
Lauf. Hands down
As a MTBr my lauf fork allows me to tackle rocky single track I would personally not do on a rigid.
The only thing I miss on the lauf is more / bigger gears. If I do a mix of gravel and road I spin out on the road.
