For those who arent familiar, Leif Erickson trail is a gravel road inside Forest Park in Portland, Oregon. It was originally built as a road to build houses on, but while building, the city and contractors saw a series of landslides (along with mounting local and indigenous pressure) and decided to scrap the massive project. Now we have one of the most beautiful empty parks anywhere inside city limits. Its a wonderful gravel route for training, lots of gradual gravel hills, short single track trails and hiking trails too.
