Hello!
I am looking to do a shorter bike trip this winter (I can take about a week off).
I am looking into biking on ACA’s Pacific Coast route and switching to this route ([https://cyclecalcoast.com/rides/pcbr/](https://cyclecalcoast.com/rides/pcbr/)) in Santa Barbara and taking the train from SLO back to LA or San Diego to fly out.
Has anyone done the route in January? I know it’s technically the rainy season. I don’t mind biking in some rain but would prefer not to bike in a downpour all day.
Any tips or advice about the route and weather would be greatly appreciated!

To get from San Clemente to Oceanside/San Diego you either have to ride on the shoulder of the 5 or get a pass to go through Camp Pendleton.
It’s only about 8 miles along the 5 but there is a LOT of fast traffic.
