Sam French, a Broadcast Journalism student at Nottingham Trent University, produced this documentary as part of his final project. He wanted to investigate attitudes towards cycling from a range of different perspectives to try to answer the question: Is society becoming more “cycle friendly” or not?
Sam chose Norwich as one of his focus cities: “I really wanted to be able to gather voices from ‘real’ cyclists to see what things are actually like and hear from the experiences of people”.

Exchange street was such a frustrating backwards step, there's barely any car traffic and the pavement's obviously over capacity.
Watching from Calgary, Alberta Canada. 🇨🇦
Well done Norwich cycling campaign
Riding in bike lanes is still risking your life in motor traffic. Cycle paths are safe and easy for people of all ages. Happy trails.
For clarity, 2.5 meters is the absolute minimum reccomended width for a shared use footway/cycleway. This is per active travel england guidance.
Also, 'floating bus stops' have been paused. But the terminology that the DfT is using is wrong. From the latest letter to authorities, only bus stop boarders have been paused. Bus stop islands are not paused as per the description in the letter. For some reason they've chosen to use the term 'floating bus stop' to describe bus stop boarders. For reference 'floating bus stop' is not a term used in the most up to date guidance.
