Hey !
i’m building up my black Le Petit Porteur (compact cargo bike) and I’m torn on the finishing kit. It’ll be equipped with a Bafang mid-drive, so it’s a heavy-duty daily driver for me and my dog.
I already have a Brooks C17 in Green Mud and Shimano silver pedals. Now I need to choose between two directions for the stem, handlebar, and seatpost:
-The "Boutique" Silver look: Polished Velo Orange stem and silver riser bars. I feel like the silver bits could balance out the "industrial" look of the Bafang motor and match the pedals.
-The "Stealth" Black look: Keep everything black to make the motor blend in and let the Green Mud saddle stand out.
I’m 6'0" (182cm) and I'm wondering about the stem length. The bars will be high risers with a lot of sweep (around 25°).
What do you think? Does the e-bike conversion make you lean more towards stealth or classic silver?
Thanks!

That screams “chrome me up!” to me. I think silver would look awesome. It really does come down to personal preference though. What would make you happier to look at?
I definitely think silver is the right call, especially with the saddle. It’s just my opinion but an all black bike with one colour accent piece just doesn’t look right. I also have to express my slight jealousy, I’ve looked at Le Petit Porteur many times in the past but can’t make it work – extremely cool little bikes
The fact that you’re putting a bafang on it is wild. Love it!
