So my Basso Pasta's carbon seatpost just developed a crack right at the MIN insertion line. The frustrating part? I used a torque wrench and only applied 4.5 Nm – under the 5 Nm maximum. Did everything by the book.
Pulled it immediately since carbon fails without warning. Checked the frame and thankfully the seat tube looks fine.
Has anyone dealt with a warranty claim for something like this? Feels like a clear manufacturing defect to me since I was below spec.
Am i cooked?

You could potentially warranty depending on age. Just go to the lbs you bought it from and they can handle it.
Or you likely should repair that. Its pretty small and that be something, Even with my limited experience, ide be able to do.
This one can be a difficult one. A lot of manufacturers are chill and will send you a new post, but it is not guaranteed. Technically it should be covered, but some manufacturers are really hard headed when it comes to carbon parts. You can not prove you did it with a calibrated torque wrench, they can not prove you did anything wrong so it is your word against theirs.
