People complaining about the lack of fruit probably have ugly succulents and plants at home that will never give edible fruit but they still water them lovingly
The people who are obsessing about it taking a few years- most aren’t growing it solely to have fruit it’s a fun project and the fruit is a great bonus. You people act like you’re forbidden to buy pineapples if you have a plant growing at home. 😂
The fact that it takes so long and takes so much space and water to grow is exactly why a pineapple was a huge status symbol in history and cost a fortune. People who wanted to show how important they were used to schedule a portrait with a pineapple in the picture too. They once cost thousands to buy and you could even rent one as a centrepiece table decoration for a dinner party
To all those complaining about the years it takes to get a fruit (or anything at all): you do this for fun, not for supplying all the supermarkets in town.
When you get into growing your own plants they become a labor of love. You aren't or probably don't have the means to mass produce but you'll be damn proud of the fruit you and your plants bear. Imagine waiting what 2 years or something to see one pineapple…to me that's 2 years of time and my labor of love produced something. I bet it would be the sweetest fruit ever too.
Make sure it gets proper nutrients too! The first pineapple i got from mine tasted like supper bitter because the plant want making enough sugar for it.
I have a pineapple plant and the pineapple is very small and has changed to a pale yellow. Is it time to whip the top off and replant or is it dying? 😂
I have 4 in my back yard all more than a year old and another one getting ready to put in water, so I get they grow slow just saying this video does kinda make it seam like boom ya got a fruit. Yea no fruit on any of mine but I like em a lot.

As someone grows pineapple at home i suggest, don't plant on vase plant on the ground…. Just a suggestion

I cut the whole top off a pineapple and stuck it in the dirt. It thrived for about two years until my mom let it die
