That was a mildly humerous anecdote but there wasn't an actual joke anywhere in there, not even a pun. Lots of us have a mate (or dad, or uncle) who will regal you, whether you want it or not, with plenty of theirs -for free. I see a comedian I want a finely honed set like John Richardson, or some peak absurdity like Simon Munnery, Dylan Moran or some expert crowd work like Gianmarco Soresi -not some fond reminiscence I could get from talking to near enough any guy over a certain age.
