Just received my new Marin Larkspur 1 this afternoon! I swapped out a few things and added some accessories that I already had. Future upgrades will be a new crankset (I bought a Microshift Sword for this, but failed to take into account the wide chain stays, and also thought the Sword was a mt bike model too, so that didn’t work), a Blackburn Grid Basket rack and some kind of bag to go in it, a fancy copper bell, and maybe a mirror if I can find one that looks ok on this bike.

Went for a little 8 mile shakedown ride and think I am really going to enjoy the

Larkspur! It really reminds me of a refined beach cruiser x 10!

If anyone is curious, this Large size, fully assembled and with everything stock included, was 32.5 lbs. I switched out the tubes for tpu, threw on this Amazon special crankset, shimano bb, and city pedals, which lightened it up a good bit. Then I added the heavy ass suspension seat post to leave me at about 31.75lbs 🤷‍♂️

  1. Looks great!!

A word of caution from my experience with the Grid Basket Rack: the stock hardware is very soft. And although I have not had any issues with carrying things, the rack attachment doesn’t feel as sturdy as I would like it to. The basket part is nice though, I may use it as a basket if I get a different rack
