It’s hard to tell, but my guess is something broke. Maybe the bar, maybe the stem, or maybe the bar detached from the stem.

Sending the wattage bazooka can be unpredictable sometimes.
He got too far out past the front spindle and endo’d.

Hard to tell. Crazy video. I’m going with chain slipping/breaking or crank giving up. It’s definitely at his feet. Not pedals cuz they both shoot at the same time

Hope they’re okay. Something similar happened to in September. All I remember is going over the bars in a spectacular fashion. No idea what happened at the time. Even now, I’m not 100% if it was my foot coming un-clipped or something got stuck between brake rotor and frame/wheel. My chain was fine. The first person who stopped said she just saw me once I was already very much in the air.
I was already moving and I really went flying. Landed almost exclusively on my left arm and it was so bloodied that everyone thought it was broken, but somehow it was okay. Horrible road rash and some bruised ribs were the worst of it. And that’s how I learned you don’t get pain meds in the ambulance.

Years back I was pacing down a hill and while shifting down the cassette, I came to a complete stop to allow the ambulance to pass in front. As I took off I made all of three pedal and had a similar accident fracturing my collarbone.
You can see his right foot at the bottom, as he tries and pedal with left the chain/cassette is already immobile causing the rider to go arse over tit just like this. Prevention is make sure your chain is actually on the cassette gear before standing up in the saddle

Looks like they fell.

Under high forces you can bend the frame or the chainring and dump the chain, locking up the pedals, and bringing your legs to a complete stop. Not fun at all.

happened to me once almost exactly frame by frame…. i downshifted at max watts in a sprint and lost/jammed the chain … would not advise
