“I Don’t Get It.”
In this Milton Scene Spotlight, we sit down with Joe Jarvis, a graphic designer who left the epicenter of London’s culture to come back and build something real in Milton Keynes.
Joe is the mind behind Hands, a project aimed at bringing people together through MK’s massive cycling culture (did you know we have over 200 miles of cycle routes?). He’s also the voice behind the “I Don’t Get It” recital originally written for the MK Fringe Festival, a piece that perfectly captures the “weird, niche, and misunderstood” side of our city.
We talk about: The “Reverse Enclosure” of the commons and trademarking green space. Why the MK creative scene is finally “turning the tide” against corporate chains. Why an industrial site in Stacy Bushes on a Tuesday is exactly where culture starts.
