I found an older Lynskey titanium road bike listed for $3,000. It has SRAM Red eTap and Zipp rim brake wheels. It’s a rim brake setup and seems to be a few years old. Assuming it’s in good condition and fits me well, does this sound like a fair price in today’s market, or is $3k too much for an older rim brake Ti build? Would appreciate any thoughts from people familiar with Lynskey or Ti bikes

  1. Really just depends how much you value disc brakes or not. If you’re in a relatively flat area, rim brakes are totally fine. Carbon rim braking surfaces are pretty iffy in the rain though. I also appreciate disc brakes on road bikes for the tire clearance. You’re usually locked in around 28 c with rim whereas I like to run 38’s on my road setup.

I have been looking for a Ti bike myself and this isn’t crazy overpriced . I wonder how many miles are on those wheels . They will inevitably need to be replaced.
    Beautiful bike .
I’m hoping to find something around this price but with disc
