Never done it before but I am doing a 26” 700C conversion build. I have got the Litepro Ali xpress folding bike long arm V-brakes on it but I want to go to some normal quality V-brakes. (Actually I just want an excuse for having to do more work on the bike ofcourse).

So I want to use these V-brake extender adapter things. Still Ali xpress but I don’t know any alternatives although I could make them myself ofcourse. https://a.aliexpress.com/\_Ewv1Hms

Problem is that the posts are welded and not screwed. So I started experimenting on an old fork. Grinded them off drilled and threaded a M10 hole and screwed other posts on. Seems to work perfectly.

Information for if others want to try: thread size of the posts (on mine) is M10x1.0 (so fine threaded). After the operation the wall thickness on the post mounts of the fork is still 3mm. (The same as seen on alu frames with threaded canti posts for the ones I measured).

I personally don’t see any things that could be wrong or lead to failure eventually, what do you guys think?
