After pushing through cold, rainy Pyrenees Atlantiques, we finally reach the Atlantic Ocean in Bayonne – a massive achievement after 1000 km of French riding! The beautiful Atlantic coast (Hilly paths, dramatic waves, Basque charm) keeps delivering stunning views, even as winter bites with cold and a bit of snow.
The highlight? Crossing the iconic bridge from Hendaye (France) to Irun (Spain) – back on Spanish soil! We roll into vibrant San Sebastian, emotional goodbye to France mixed with excitement for what’s next. Snow flurries made it feel extra magical (and a little challenging), but reaching the Basque coast again? Worth every pedal.
France, you tested us… and we loved it. Spain, we’re back!
