I've had my Aeroad for a few days now, and I only noticed this gap and the hole in the frame after two days. Canyon Support says a service workshop should
take a look at it.
Question: Is this normal? What's the purpose of the hole in the frame there?

Yes, it is normal. Purpose – water drainage away from headset bearings.
