I know it’s common knowledge probably. But before replacing my broken shifter cable I wasn’t able to google this info anywhere. But I removed the small plastic cap near the rear derailleur, and saw that the cable housing actually runs continuously from the shift lever all the way through the frame and ends just near where it exits the frame.
That means replacing a broken cable is pretty easy, just pull the old one one, and new one in, no hassle. Although if you want to replace the cable housing as well, it will take a bit more effort obviously because the housing is routed through the frame.
