This video covers a bikepacking weekend cycling through some of the finest cycling roads around. I started with a short ride to the ferry, crossing from Harwich to the Hook of Holland. We took some time to chill on the ferry before riding about 20 miles into Rotterdam where we slept in a barge!
The following day we met up with other club members and rode the rest of the route passing into Ustrecht and Amsterdam… as always things didn’t go quite to plan meeting up and wolfy having a little unplanned swim as well as some other comedy moments.

First class, thanks for taking the time to upload.
Great vid, I need a Dave in my life
Thanks for visiting our small country. Always welcome . Loved the video
First bike packing trip, so there will be a next one I suppose😉. You've only seen some slices of the western part of The Netherlands, so much more to explore if you want to. Greetings from The Netherlands🌷.
Great video. I think Denmark is also very nice for cycling. Specially for gravel.
Hope you guys enjoyed the trip, come back anytime
Great video Ian and Keith is always great entertainment 😂
You missed the cycle tunnel under the Meuse! Build before WWII.
Nice to see so many familiar places, you had great weather!
Great to hear you enjoyed my country, just as I have enjoyed yours some many times in the past… If this is your kind of rinding, don't overlook the eastern part of the Netherlands which has a different feel to it. And perhaps consider a trip to Denmark as well… atb, Gerlach Sven.
29:00 The Dutch national team always stays at the Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin in Noordwijk as a gathering point for international players. On the boulevard, you passed two groups of young players in blue tracksuits with an orange lion. As a non-football fan, I don't recognize them. It's probably a youth team, anyone? Thanks for the proudmaking video ans i wish you all many many kilometres (the smart miles) in the Netherlands
Make it a habit to stop at a railroad crossing, when alarmed.
Gouda:
G, hiss like a cat. If you want the typical well known hard G, make it a full grown feral cat. But many Dutch (like myself) have a soft G, so pretend you’re a kitten.
OU, like the ow in how, now, cow.
DA, pretty much the same as in English in this context.
And the kids were saying something like “willen jullie een (inaudible) doen ”- “Do you guys want to do a/an (inaudible)?” No douche there. If we speak about a douche here, it’s a shower. 😊
As a Dutchie a 1000% prefer the English countryside above the Netherlands 😊
the 2nd day your bicycle club seem to have been infiltrated by imposters! 😀
Such a good video. How many miles per day did you cover? I know an English chap that lived in Holland. He claims the reason so many people cycle, is good security for your bike, people don't try to steal them. Cycling is part of everyday life in Holland, I believe people use local shops more than the UK. Of course being flat is a bonus.
I knew about the cycle infrastructure in the Netherlands.
But seeing this vid it doesn't appear that attractive .
Your comment says it all.
Looks like you didn't ride along the river De Vecht between Utrecht and Amsterdam. Which I think is one of the most beautiful routes in the Netherlands. Write it down for next time.
Great video. I'm fairly new to Bikepacking and although I'm from the UK I've been working in Saudi Arabia for 8 years. My annual treat at the moment is cycling around Italy, which is on my channel.
How long have you been filming as you make it look so easy?
Subscribed.
Try Belgium instead of the Netherlands, the Ardenne especally. Beautiful landscape, fantastic beer!!!😅
It looks a little cooler than Vietnam & Cambodia, but fun none the less. As always, the video is entertaining and the music is spot on. Tell Keith to crack on.
At 26:00 kids asking ‘Willen jullie een koude douche?’ It means ‘do you want a cold shower’ It has nothing to do with a bag…
Nice, you passed through my hometown (Vlaardingen) 🙂
Thanks for sharing this great video!
Hum.. guy's, if you have your phone in your hand on a bicycle you can get a fine of €90,- . So becareful.
You were lucky to see those two historic steam towboats pass by under steam in Rotterdam. They are industrial monuments…
‘Gouda’ = ‘Xhowda’. The ‘G’ is a very hard ‘H’. 🚴🏻♂️😎
Heya, great video. I would highly recommend visiting Utrechtse Heuvelrug, Veluwe and the Hanzeatic cities on the IJssel river. Maybe next time 🙂
Did you not go to the bike parking garage under the Utrecht train station?
It it the largerst bike parking garage in the world
30:40 lol, getting called out by the tram ad xD
Old man in Amsterdam probably said aso, it means anti social person because you guys blocked the bike lane. Just normal in Amsterdam.
