Today, I successfully tested a custom project for tires.
The idea is to replace a defective or torn bead cord and change the landing size.
For the experiment, I used the SCHWALBE JUMBO JIM, which is a popular tire in our country.
original dimensions: 26×4.0
Final dimensions:
29×3.6
780 mm diameter
92 mm width
The next project is designed as 27.5×4.8 (JUMBO JIM or AL MIGHTY)
Interesting observations:
1) completely tubeless installation compatibility
2) width is maintained, only the diameter increases
3) fits in a frame compatible with a 5.05 tire size
4) weight is almost unchanged
and what tires would you be interested in trying?
26×6.2 (Surly Molenda base)
27.5×4.8 (Surly BUD base)
or maybe
29×4.8? =)))
What are your thoughts, gentlemen?
P.S. I made this post at the request of my dude, so you can ask questions, comment, and if possible, I will answer on his behalf.
