I love all kinds of weather apps from swiss-army-knife Carrot Weather to full route forecasting tools like Epic Ride Weather, but as I headed out the door for rides I had an itch for something simpler – super quick, light and glanceable. Something to just check wind, rain, temperature before I go ride.
So I made a small hobby project app for myself just for that. I figured others may have the same itch, so I released it as a free app CycleWeather.
It’s intentionally simple, color-coded and glanceable, so you can instantly see if it’s a good day to ride or if you need layers. Free, one page, no login, no ads, no accounts, no data collection, no social connections; just fast ride conditions at a glance.
I’d love feedback from cyclists — what weather info do you actually check before deciding to ride? I have already a number of ideas for future versions, but would appreciate fellow rider feedback.

Looks really useful, nice idea.
Very nice. Love the simplicity and a ton of info on the screen that’s easy to read. Only suggestion I can think of is swiping between saved locations. Nice work!
Great app that fills a real need! A couple of comments:
* Love the easy switching between Celsius and Fahrenheit (my partner is European, so I use both)
* Wind direction is super helpful. I often check PredictWind (a sailing app that covers both land and water) as riding into a headwind is no fun.
* Thanks for adding air quality, as that can be a major issue – especially once you get along in years. 😉
Probably the only feature I would like to see is the option to click on a day and pull up a regional map with all this info on it. I often do longer rides and take Metro-North up the Hudson River Valley – the conditions there can be very different from those in NYC. While it’s easy to pull up a new location on your app, a map view would make trip planning easier. But I realize that would mean a lot of extra work and stray from your goal of quick and glanceable.
Again, great work – and thanks for not collecting personal data like everything else wants to do.
