I noticed something interesting while comparing the sold-out Aeroad CF SLX8 Di2 models with the newer listings.

According to the product descriptions, the frames of the discounted/sold-out versions are listed with a lower frame weight than the newer ones. At the same time, the newer builds seem to come with a lighter saddle, which would roughly balance the total bike weight so it doesn’t actually increase overall that much—at least if the listed specs are accurate.

That made me wonder:

Has Canyon quietly changed something about the frame layup or construction on the newer Aeroad CF SLX frames that could explain the higher frame weight? Or is this just a spec sheet inconsistency / measurement difference?

Curious if anyone else has noticed this or has more insight.

  1. Maybe its a different colour frame? There can easily be 100 grams difference between colours. Especially with white for example
