I have been looking for some road wheels for my gravel bike (curve grx4) to swap back and forward with.. I have found a mega deal locally on some Reynolds AR58/AR62.

Would they look completely ridiculous? Or kinda cool? Struggling to imagine to be honest.. my gravel bike isn’t the most aggressive 🤣 I’m a pretty big boy so not supper worried about cross winds & weight.. they will just be used for fun fast road days?

Ps yes my bike is absolutely mid falling over in the picture🤣

If it’s a good deal, and you want it, and you can afford it, then it’s the right choice.

Ridiculously awesome. The contrast between a clean, thin titanium frame and deep rims is the move. You should do it.

  3. Deep wheels always look good. And they don’t care about the rest of your setup, they’re still going to contribute a few watts.

It won’t look ridiculous it’ll look great! Deep rims saves lives 😄 Even least aggressive bike looks super cool with deep rims. Only thing I would be concerned is the inner width, gravel likes it big, so if those are 24mm or bigger then great.

I see lots of ads for gravel bikes with front handlebar bags paired with deep carbon wheels so seems like you are right in the instagram sweet spot.

honestly 60mm on a gravel bike would look pretty sick imo. if you’re already doing road days and found a good deal on the Reynolds, I’d say go for it. worst case you try them and decide to flip them if you don’t vibe with the look. the handling in crosswinds is the only thing I’d test — you mentioned you’re not worried but worth doing a windy day spin before committing to long rides with them.

I would worry less about what people think – I can’t see tyres getting skinnier. If your bike can take them, ride them.
