Converted my threaded mtb to a threadless with this adapter. While it fits the handlebar clamp on the top section, the bottom section is slightly more narrow. Is it possible to put spacers? Are there any specific ones for this kind of adapter?

Why would you need spacers? Spacers are to preload (as much as anything) and this doesn’t need preloading with it being threaded.
