this part of my front derailleur is missing. what could be the best thing to use as the missing clamp band adapter? I was thinking of using spray paint cap wrapped around the seat tube and clamping the front derailleur on it but is there any more better alternative? number three in the diagram

You could get a bike shop to order you the part. But also I’d see if there are any old front mechs they have you could cannibalise. If you ask nicely a good bike shop should be able to fix you up with the replacement. There’s usually buckets full of broken mechs the want to get rid of
