  1. So you just shifted it and it went into the spokes? Did the bike fall over on the derailleur first?

  2. Oh goodness is that a campagnolo super record 12? Looks like it’s got the right carbon build and piston shift. That’s aboot $700 for the part alone, plus the cost of throwing a spoke into what I’m sure is a carbon rim that is hopefully not damaged…I’d budget around $1000 for the replacement

Unrelated but how big are your fucking legs to be able to do that? Shouldn’t happen normally, that’s a pretty remarkable failure. How were you shifting before that?

  3. I was riding it down a hill and shifted the gear and it broke right off into the wheel. Just picked up from Facebook is this user error or was it broke to begin with

  4. This reaaaaaly sounds like a shifter with a poorly set up limit screw. It should not be possible to shift into the spokes but it sounds like you did. Could well be contentious but if this bike was handed to you with the assumption it was in good working order then you were perhaps misled, but … this is a good argument for giving an unfamiliar bike a thorough look over before riding it.

  5. No this is a poorly adjusted derailleur. Did you crash? Maybe you should sue him for his negligence?
